If you are an up and coming designer in South Africa and you want to take your designs to the next level then this is definitely for you!
SA fashion week has announce their New Talent Search in connection with long time partner Sunglass hut and it promises to a be a great one, not only for designers but the South African fashion industry as well.
“Many of South Africa’s most talented designers have been nurtured, identified through the New Talent search including David Tlale, Cleo Droomer and Tiaan Nagel. The challenge for designers this year is Individualism -‐ a growing mega trend – identified by authors Georg Vielmetter & Yvonne Sell in their book Leadership 2030, and we would like to find someone that can lead the fashion pack, not follow it.
It is time to show us, not only a new point of view, but also a very individual point of view.
As with last year’s competition, we are looking for a very strong but also unique handwriting. While we like “bold”, we aren’t simply looking for theatre, but a contemporary wardrobe that appeals to a modern woman’s lifestyle. Trend and industry expert Dion Chang will convene the search again this year as we set out to uncover the next great South African designer.”, said Lucilla Booyzen, Head of SAFW
The prize tally up to R85,000 and include a trip to London fashion week, representation by The Fashion Agent for a year and and opportunity to show a satellite collection at the SA Fashion week Spring/Summer 2016 season
