Celebrate Mother’s Day in style this year with these five ideas!

I love my mom! And I’m sure most other South African’s do too. So when it comes to Mother’s Day we always want to show our moms how much we love and appreciate them for the time they spend cleaning up after us, supporting our dreams, being our rock and giving us their unconditional love every day of the year.

Seems like a tall ask…but don’t worry – I have the solution! Or make that five. How about trying any of these ideas to really treat that special woman in your life this Mother’s Day.

  1. A meal that’s made with love

It’s easy to take your mom out for a meal on Mother’s Day, but how about adding that extra pinch of love into the occasion by cooking her a special meal at home. Choose a recipe that is simple but tasty to make and set the table so it looks special. Invite your siblings to join you and get them involved in the kitchen antics. My mom LOVES it when I make XXX!

  1. Buy her favourite perfume

A great gift is buying your mom her favourite perfume. Most moms don’t often spoil themselves with luxuries like special perfume so why not do it for her! Look out for any retail outlets that are having specials where you can buy perfume on sale so you don’t have to break the bank.

  1. DIY your way to her heart

If you follow me on Pinterest you’ll know that I am OBSESSED with this platform! It’s the perfect place to search for Mother’s Day gifts that you can make yourself rather than spending hours trawling the malls for her prefect gift. Type in Mother’s Day gift ideas or search for particular things that you know your mom likes to get your creative juices flowing.

  1. Pamper party for two

Your mum will absolutely love this one – mine has in the past. Just set up a home mini Mani or Pedi station and treat your mom to her very own spa day. Bring out all her favorite nail colours, an exfoliating scrub or give her a back massage. You can even add in a home facial or mask as well that you can buy from Sorbet or another trusted beauty outlet.

  1. Movie Magic

Get some of your mom’s all-time favourite movies or series and book a night when you can binge watch them with her along with supplying some delicious snacks and wine at home. With her feet up and you taking time to chill out with her – this is sure to go down a treat.

Good luck with your planning and here’s wishing all the mom’s out there a very special and happy Mother’s Day!
